Bathroom (one) is finally done!

Ok, it was done last October but... since he started in MAY I'm not giving Builder Steve any props. Yea, freaking may. Ya know, when he did the quarts kitchen counter tops he was quick, clean, professional.... so yea, we'll hire ya to tile a bath in a side job. and Yea, if your daughter breaks her arm at school. absolutely go take care of her. but if you're in the hospital for a month it would have been nice if SOMEONE mentioned that you were still alive and planning on coming back but OK, please do finish the job you've BEEN paid to do. (don't even ask, it's not good for my blood pressure)

So, after six months of piddling along we decided to ask a friend if a friend in the trades if he knew anyone. Sure, Sanford Flooring is a good outfit he says so we get them in and ask for an estimate to finish the job. (knowing there just has to be a premium for "did someone else work on it first" jobs.)
Well yea, he says, we can get an estimate for the other bathroom that was never toutched (thank god) and the kid here says he'll gladly take on finishing this one as a side job.

The good news is that it just needed a few cut tiles around fixtures and grouting. So, kid shows up "Next Day", handles all the cut tiles, adds a new row of tile to the top of the shower taking it right up to the cieling, adds edging the other guy didn't even bother with, custom cuts all the edges to they line up the crocked tiles already thin set to the wall with the also crocked end of the wall.... Does it all with just the scraps that were left over, then comes back the next day and does all the grout and fixtures, and trim before cleaning the bathroom. We paid him extra!

Then we get the bad news. The estimate for the other bathroom is $8000. Just to tile the floor and shower. And that's with me doing all the demo and plumbing and electrical.
